Poughkeepsie, N.Y. – Stockton University (8-2) scored the first four goals of the game and stayed in front the rest of the way for a 17-12 victory over Vassar College (7-4) that was the third straight win for the Ospreys.
Luc Swedlund (Randolph/Randolph) powered the offense with a game-high seven goals.
Hayden Smallwood (Margate/Ocean City) scored three times while
Reegan Capozzoli (Wayne/Wayne Valley) contributed two goals and two assists.

Dante Poli (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks South) and Swedlund staked Stockton to a 4-0 lead in the first quarter. Vassar responded with three straight goals before Capozzoli found the net to halt the run.
After Vassar got within 5-4, Swedlund potted three goals in 55 seconds to put the Ospreys back up by four at 8-4 on the way to a 9-5 lead at halftime. The home team then doubled Stockton 4-2 in the third quarter and scored just 36 seconds into the fourth period to make it an 11-10 game.
Stockton then exploded for six consecutive goals to clinch the outcome. Smallwood led the spurt with three markers followed by Swedlund with two and
Colin Hopkins (Springfield, Pa./Springfield Twp.) with one.
The Ospreys led 17-10 with 6:08 remaining and closed out their third straight triumph, 17-12.
Colin Bernstein (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South) earned the win with 14 saves while
Tyler Horvath (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks) won 21 of 32 faceoffs and snagged 10 ground balls.
Troy Santise and Dan Negron paced Vassar with two goals apiece. Goalie Jack Bagin made 14 saves for the hosts.
The inaugural season of Coastal Lacrosse Conference play begins on Saturday with Stockton hosting No. 4 ranked Salisbury University at 1 p.m.
