Stockton Uses Massive Rally to Defeat Kean

Union, NJ – Stockton University (10-3, 2-1 CLC), after being held scoreless in the first half, exploded for all their goals in the final 30 minutes to take a 14-12 victory over Kean University (10-3, 0-1 CLC) on Wednesday night. Dante Poli (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks South) led the way with four goals and one assist for five points on the night.

With the victory, Kevin Zulauf earned his 150th career win as head coach at Stockton.

The first half was all Cougars as they dominated the visitors, holding a 27-12 advantage on shots, 18-5 in shots on goal and forced 11 turnovers, on the way to a 7-0 lead after two quarters of play.

The Ospreys came out of the break on fire, rattling in 11 goals to just two for the Cougars to take an 11-9 lead after three quarters. Stockton ripped off seven straight markers in a span of just under eight and a half minutes to tie the game at 7-7.

Stanley Kolimago (Lansdale, PA/Methacton) led the way with three goals, with Luc Swedlund (Randolph/Randolph) adding a pair of tallies. With Kean leading 9-8, the Ospreys potted the final three goals, by Sean Haddock (East Windsor), Swedlund and Poli for the 11-9 lead after three periods.

In the final frame, two more scores by Poli and another by Haddock, offset three goals by the Cougars to give Stockton the 14-12 come-from-behind victory.

Swedlund scored three goals and dished a pair of helpers for five points, with Haddock and Kolimago scoring hat tricks as well.

Tyler Horvath (Chalfont, PA/Central Bucks South) had a solid game winning 18-30 (60.0%) faceoffs with a game-high 18 ground balls.
