Ewing, N.J. – Stockton University (11-4, 4-2 NJAC) finished conference play with a 9-0 setback to The College of New Jersey (13-4, 6-0), which has never lost to an NJAC opponent. The result left the Ospreys third in the league and the No. 3 seed for the upcoming NJAC Tournament.
Two Stockton players nearly broke into the win column.
Carlee Cristella (Mantua/Clearview) won the first set of her match at No. 5 singles before ultimately falling 1-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-0) in a super-tiebreaker.
At No. 3 singles,
Sophia Pasquale (Galloway/Holy Spirit) won a total of six games in a 6-4, 6-2 decision.
Sarb Devi (Galloway/Absegami) and
Lily Muir (Robbinsville/Robbinsville) took three games in an 8-3 setback at No. 1 doubles.
Before the NJAC Tournament next week, Stockton will end the regular season with a home match against Stevens on Saturday at noon.
