Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University (12-4) finished the regular season with a narrow 5-4 victory over Stevens (8-8). The triumph gave Stockton its highest win total since the 2012-13 campaign. The Ospreys won just once in doubles but took four out of six in singles to prevail.
Sophia Pasquale (Galloway/Holy Spirit) and
Audrey van Schalkwyk (Haddon Hts./Paul VI) earned the doubles point for Stockton with an 8-6 win in the No. 2 slot. Pasquale cruised to a 6-1, 6-2 singles victory and van Schalkwyk secured a 7-5, 6-2 conquest.
Carlee Cristella (Mantua/Clearview) triumphed 6-2, 6-3 and
Kierstyn Fenimore (Tabernacle/Seneca) won by retirement. Fenimore won the first set 6-0, dropped the second 2-6 and was leading 2-1 in the third set when her opponent was forced to bow out.
Stockton earned the No. 3 seed for the NJAC Tournament, and the Ospreys will play a semifinal match at No. 2 seed New Jersey City on Wednesday at 2 p.m.
