Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (11-4, 2-2 NJAC) dropped a tough NJAC matchup to Rowan University (12-4, 3-1 NJAC) 19-8 on Tuesday afternoon. Isabella Marinello (West Caldwell/Caldwell) led the Ospreys with three goals and two assists for five points on the day.
 
The game was tightly contested after one period with Marinello and Aubrey Giordano (Mt. Olive/Mt. Olive) hitting the net to offset a pair of Prof goals for a 2-2 tie after one quarter of play.
 
The Profs took control of the contest with a seven-goal outburst in the second stanza to forge a 9-5 lead after one half. After Rowan potted another two goals to extend the lead to 11-5 to start the third period, Emily Deworsop (Monroe Twp./Monroe Twp.) and Marinello sliced the margin to 11-7, but that was as close as the home team would come.
 
Eight straight goals by Rowan pushed the lead to 19-7, before freshman Brianna Robinson (Cape May Court House/Middle Twp.) scored her ninth marker of the season to set the final score at 19-8.
 
Lexie Jackson (Barnegat/Barnegat) led all players with eight draw controls, with Mary McLaughlin (Somers Point/Mainland) grabbing six more. Goalkeeper Jordan Hawkes (Egg Harbor Twp./EHT) made four saves.
 
For the Profs, Jamie Cutrera scored five goals, dished two assists and grabbed six draw controls. Erin Renshaw added four goals with Michaela Donnelly scoring three goals with three assists. Molly Green topped all players with four assists. Net minder Reilly Shaup kicked out eight attempts by Stockton.
 
Stockton will finish the regular season with a road tilt against Kean University on Saturday afternoon. Game time in Union, NJ will be at 1 pm.
