Aston, PA – Stockton University (7-5) won two more matches at the Neumann Knights Invitational on Sunday. The Ospreys downed Messiah University (6-2) 3-1, outscoring the Falcons 21-25, 25-20, 32-30, 25-21, then beat host Neumann (7-5) also by a 3-1 final. The scores were 21-25, 27-25, 25-22 and 25-18 and pushed Stockton's win streak to five consecutive matches.

Against Messiah, after splitting the first two sets, the third frame was a thrilling affair, with both squads fighting for every point. The deciding points came with Stockton down 30-29. A kill by
Teleyah Witherspoon (Hackensack/Hackensack) and two straight aces by
Ashley Carkhuff (Hackettstown/Hackettstown) gave the Ospreys the set.

The final set was all Ospreys as the Falcons never got closer than three points in the 25-21 victory, sending Stockton to the win.
Nicole Palmer (East Islip, NY/East Islip) led the squad with 19 kills, with
Kate Louer (Clifton/Clifton) adding 13 spikes and scooping nine digs.

The setter combo of
Regan Mendick (Newark, DE/Red Lion Christian) and
Aubrey Rentzel (York, PA/Central York) dished 27 and 22 assists respectively. Freshman
McKenna Ritchie (Newark DE/Newark Charter School) topped all players with 24 digs, while Witherspoon blocked eight shots.

In the nightcap, the Knights took the first set, but the Ospreys came from behind once again. The Ospreys won the second frame before taking the deciding third set again. With the score 21-20 in favor of Stockton, the Ospreys won four of the final six points to capture the set.

Kills by
Camille De La Torre (Lancaster, PA/Hempfield), Palmer and Witherspoon, plus an ace by
Jaylah Rolle (Williamstown/Williamstown) pushed the visitors to the win. The fourth set was all Ospreys as the team jumped out to a quick 6-2 lead and never looked back in the 25-18 win.

Palmer had 20 kills with Witherspoon chipping in with 10 kills and a game-high six blocks. Louer added nine kills and 11 digs, with Mendick dishing 25 assists. It was the 10th time this season, the sophomore had double digit assists and fifth time with 20 or more helpers. Ritchie scooped 24 digs, with Rentzel adding 18 assists, six digs and a team-high three aces.
Palmer was named MVP of the Neumann Knights Invitational, spiking a total of 57 kills in four matches with 13 blocks. Witherspoon, who totaled 22 kills and 25 blocks was selected to the All-Tournament Team.

Stockton will be off until Thursday when the Ospreys will travel to Collegeville, PA to take on Ursinus College. Game time is scheduled for 7pm.
