Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (4-0-2) extended their unbeaten streak to six straight matches as the Ospreys defeated Haverford College (1-1-5) by a slim 1-0 score on Wednesday night. Freshman
Ernst Louisius (Asbury Park/Neptune) scored the lone goal in the match.
Â
The game started with a fast pace, as the squads squeezed off 14 shots combined, but neither team could find the net in the first 45 minutes of play. Stockton was able to put three shots on net, two by freshman
JP Candela (Howell/Howell) but were turned away.
Â
The Ospreys finally broke the scoreless game in the 54th minute. After a shot by
Dawson Joseph (East Brunswick/East Brunswick) was saved by Fords goalie Dylan Ioffreda, Louisius pounced on the rebound and fired in his second tally of the season for the 1-0 lead.
Â
Stockton kept up the pressure, but the Fords came close to knotting the contest. At 62:59, Aidan Lacy fired a shot that hit the crossbar. In the 73rd minute Haverford had one last chance that was kicked away, and Stockton held on for the 1-0 victory.
Â
Freshman goalkeeper
Brady Bartletta (Hainesport/Rancocas Valley) made three saves in posting his third clean sheet of the season. Ioffreda turned away six Osprey attempts in suffering his first loss of the year.
