Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University (5-0-3) remained unbeaten through the first eight games of the season with a 1-0 victory over Moravian University (2-2-2) at G. Larry James Stadium. The Ospreys also posted their fifth consecutive shutout.
Logan Shaw (Hainesport/Rancocas Valley) scored the game-winner just 4:45 into the match and the Stockton defense did the rest.
Grace Tecce (Jamison, Pa./Central Bucks South) served a cross from the left side that found Shaw at the corner of the goalie box, and the sophomore knocked the ball home.
The goal was Shaw's second of the season. With seven points in the first eight games, Shaw already has equaled her total from her rookie campaign in 2022. Tecce's assist was her third in the last four contests.
Stockton goalkeeper
Morgan Keil (Upper Twp./Holy Spirit) made three saves to record her fifth shutout of the season. Keil has yet to allow a goal in 514:30 played this year. As a team, the Ospreys have held opponents scoreless for the last 454:33.
Stockton survived a scare in the 19th minute as Moravian's Carly Pyatt took a shot that bounced off the left post. Greyhounds' goalie Payce Korpics finished with two saves in the contest.
Stockton will begin NJAC play with a road game at Rutgers-Newark on Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
