Stockton Falls to #4 Montclair

Montclair, N.J. – After beginning the season with a seven-game unbeaten streak, Stockton University (4-1-3, 0-1-1 NJAC) absorbed its first setback by a 3-0 count in a conference game at undefeated Montclair State University (8-0-1, 2-0 NJAC). The Red Hawks are ranked No. 4 in the nation by the United Soccer Coaches.

All three goals surrendered by the Ospreys came in a span of 25:17 during the first half, including one on a penalty kick. Freshman goalkeeper Brady Bartletta (Hainesport/Rancocas Valley) made four saves in the match.

Joseph Carbone (Pequannock/Pequannock) registered both of Stockton's shots on goal, which came in the first 14 minutes of the game. Amer Lukovic scored two markers for the Red Hawks and Shane Keenan made two saves to hold the Ospreys scoreless.

Stockton begins a three-game homestand on Saturday at noon when the Ospreys host Kean University, which received votes in this week's United Soccer Coaches Division III poll.
