Galloway, N.J. –Stockton University (9-6, 2-0 NJAC) cruised to a 25-18, 25-18, 25-12 sweep of New Jersey City (2-6, 0-3 NJAC) for its seventh win in the last eight matches. All 16 healthy Ospreys saw action in the victory.
Camille De La Torre (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) and
Nicole Palmer (East Islip, N.Y./East Islip) led Stockton with seven kills apiece followed by
Rileigh Wilson (Milton, Del./Cape Henlopen) with five kills.
Regan Mendick (Newark, Del./Red Lion Christian) chipped in with nine assists and six digs while freshman
Kristen Burton (Millersville, Md./Archbishop Spalding) tallied nine assists, five digs and a career-high four aces.
McKenna Ritchie (Newark, Del./Newark Charter) tied for match-high honors with eight digs.
De La Torre, Wilson and Palmer registered three kills apiece as Stockton took the first set 25-18. Four more kills by Palmer sparked the Ospreys to another 25-18 win in the second set.
Emma Capriglione (Tuckerton/Pinelands) spiked four kills as Stockton dominated the third stanza 25-12 to clinch the victory.
Stockton returns home to host a tri-match on Saturday in which the Ospreys will play Widener at 10:00 a.m. and Mount Saint Vincent at 2:00 p.m.
