Stockton Unbeaten Streak Snapped 2-1

Galloway, NJ –Stockton University (5-3-2, 0-1-1 NJAC) saw their five match unbeaten streak come to a halt, with a 2-1 defeat to The College of New Jersey (8-0-2, 2-0-0 NJAC) on Wednesday afternoon. Logan Shaw (Hainesport/Rancocas Valley) scored the only tally for Stockton against the Lions, who are ranked #10 nationally by the United Soccer Coaches.
 
TCNJ scored both of their markers in a dominant first half, in which they outshot the Ospreys 9-1 in the first 45 minutes of play. The home team started to gather some momentum pressing the action, as Kayla Rozanski (Woodbury/Woodbury) clanged a shot off the post in the 52nd minute.
 
At 78:22 a handball in the box gave the Ospreys a penalty kick. Shaw deposited her second marker of the year to slice the margin in half at 2-1.
 
Shaw had a pair of opportunities in the final 11 minutes but could not convert as the Lions held on the for the one goal victory.
 
Morgan Keil (Upper Twp./Holy Spirit) made three saves in the game.
 
For TCNJ, Victoria D'Imperio had a goal and assist, while goalkeeper Ellen Williams kicked out two Osprey attempts.
 
Stockton will play again at home on Saturday, when the Ospreys will face New Jersey City in the annual Breast Cancer Awareness Game. Game time is scheduled for 12 pm at G. Larry James Stadium.
