Newark, N.J. – Stockton University (6-5-5, 3-2-2 NJAC) scored two late goals to rally for a key 2-1 conference victory at Rutgers-Newark (7-6-4, 1-2-4 NJAC). The win lifted the Ospreys into a tie for fourth place with two league games to go.
Starting forwards
Joseph Carbone (Pequannock/Pequannock) and
Ernst Louisius (Asbury Park/Neptune) scored just over four minutes apart to erase a 1-0 deficit that Stockton had faced for nearly 70 minutes after an early Rutgers-Newark goal 5:09 into the match.
Carbone netted his fourth marker of the season with 15:31 remaining to pull the Ospreys into a 1-1 tie. Only 4:09 later, Louisius struck for his team-leading seventh goal of the year to give Stockton its first lead of the game with 11:22 remaining.
Antonio Matos (Hammonton/St. Augustine Prep) assisted on the game-winner.

Brady Bartletta (Hainesport/Rancocas Valley) made three saves for the win, all of which came with his team trailing by one. In addition to scoring the game-winner, Louisius also hit a post early in the second half.
Esteban Hidalgo scored the early goal for Rutgers-Newark, but the Ospreys found the net with their only two shots on goal of the night.
Stockton will play its penultimate game of the regular season on Saturday when they host #19-ranked Montclair State at 6:00 p.m.
