Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Stockton Edged 1-0 by Montclair

Montclair, N.J. – Stockton University (9-6-2, 4-3-1 NJAC) was edged 1-0 by Montclair (8-5-5, 5-2-1 NJAC) in a matchup of teams that were tied for third place in the conference entering what was the next-to-last game of the regular season.

Despite the setback, the Ospreys clinched the No. 4 seed for the NJAC Tournament based on the outcomes of other games. The fourth seed gives Stockton a home game next Saturday in the first round of the NJAC playoffs.

Stockton goalkeeper Megan Brady (Rockaway/Morris Knolls) established a new career high with nine saves, topping her previous mark of eight stops, which came in the previous game on Wednesday. Eight of Brady's nine saves came while the match was scoreless.

Emily Hauck (Jonestown, Pa./Northern Lebanon) paced the Ospreys with three shots, all of which were on goal but were denied by Montclair keeper Salange Bell who blanked Stockton with five stops on the night. The shot totals were 16-8 in favor of the Red Hawks including 10-5 in shots on goal.

Kylee Reissek (Newfield/Delsea) and Kayla Rozanski (Woodbury/Woodbury) registered one shot on goal apiece. The match was scoreless into the 67th minute until Kylie Prendergast broke through for the game-winner.

Stockton will finish the regular season with a home game against Kean University on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. With the Ospreys in fourth place and Kean in fifth, the contest could be a preview of a potential NJAC Tournament first round duel on November 2.
