Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University (16-6, 5-2 NJAC) led virtually from start to finish and dominated Rutgers-Camden (6-18, 2-5 NJAC) in a 3-0 sweep by scores of 25-14, 25-13, 25-11. The Ospreys smacked 43 kills and committed just eight hitting errors for a .389 hitting percentage.
Nicole Palmer (East Islip, N.Y./East Islip) led Stockton with match highs of 12 kills and five aces plus four assists and four digs.
Kate Louer (Clifton/Clifton) spiked nine kills with no errors on 12 attacks for a blistering .750 hitting percentage.
Regan Mendick (Newark, Del./Red Lion Christian) and
McKenna Ritchie (Newark, Del./Newark Charter) produced match highs with 20 assists and 11 digs respectively.
Ashley Carkhuff (Hackettstown/Hackettstown) chipped in with seven digs, five kills and three blocks.
Palmer and Louer tallied six and four kills while neither player made a hitting error as Stockton cruised 25-14 in the first set. Carkhuff totaled four digs and three kills during the 25-13 second set.
Palmer hit five more kills and the Osprey bench players saw plenty of action in the third set as Stockton rolled to a 25-11 rout.
Gabby Gbolahan paced Rutgers-Camden with six kills and Mia Owens registered nine digs. Setter Avery Ang dished eight assists and reached the 1,000-assist mark for her career.
Stockton will play Stevens at 11:00 a.m. and Skidmore College at 1:30 p.m. in a tri-match at Stevens on Saturday.
