Stockton Earns No. 3 Seed with 0-0 Tie

Union, N.J. – Stockton University (7-5-6, 4-2-3 NJAC) needed a tie or better in the last game of the regular season to earn a home game in the NJAC Tournament and accomplished the objective with a 0-0 draw at Kean University (5-8-6, 3-3-3 NJAC).

The tie and results of other games on Wednesday gave the Ospreys the No. 3 seed for the conference playoffs, which begin on Saturday. Stockton rocketed up the standings with a four-game unbeaten streak (2-0-2) to end the regular season.

Stockton goalkeeper Brady Bartletta (Hainesport/Rancocas Valley) earned his sixth shutout of the year with three saves. The teams combined for just five shots on goal, with Kean holding a slight 3-2 edge.

Kean goalie Dominic Ridge stopped shots on goal by Dawson Joseph (East Brunswick/East Brunswick) and Caden Devers (Lumberton/Rancocas Valley) to keep Stockton off the board. The Ospreys played the last 29:02 with a man advantage after a Cougars' player received his second card of the night.

The teams will play a rematch in the first round of the NJAC Tournament on Saturday, with the No. 3 seed Ospreys hosting No. 6 seed Kean at 1:00 p.m.
