Stockton Edged 1-0 by Eastern

St. David's, Pa. – Stockton University (6-4-2, 1-1-1 NJAC) controlled much of the game but fell 1-0 to Eastern University (7-3-3) on Tuesday afternoon. Despite outshooting Eastern 24-5, the Ospreys couldn't find the back of the net, and a late goal by the Eagles in the 81st minute sealed Stockton's fate.

Logan Shaw (Hainesport/Rancocas Valley) led the Stockton offense with seven shots, four on target, while the team tallied 12 shots in each half. Kylee Alvarez (Galloway/Absegami) nearly scored in the 78th minute, however her shot was cleared off the line by a Eagles field player.

Eastern goalkeeper Faith Leake recorded15 saves to keep the Ospreys off the board. Stockton also earned 10 corner kicks compared to just one for Eastern, but couldn't convert their chances.

The game's only goal came in the 81st minute when Eastern's Ella Marrollo slipped one past Stockton goalkeeper Morgan Keil (Upper Twp./Holy Spirit) who finished with two saves. Stockton continued to press forward after the goal but couldn't find an equalizer.

Stockton will play an NJAC match at Rutgers-Camden on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
