Chester, Pa. – Stockton University (4-4-4) edged Widener University (5-4-3) 1-0 in the final non-conference game of the season for the Ospreys. Stockton extended its unbeaten streak to three (2-0-1) and reached the two-thirds mark of the schedule with an equal number of wins, losses and ties.
Junior back
Thomas Trimble (Emerson/Emerson) scored his first goal since the 2022 season when he played forward. Trimble dangled around two defenders and fired a low 20-yard blast with 16:41 remaining that proved to be the game-winner.
Stockton goalkeeper
Brady Bartletta (Hainesport/Rancocas Valley) made five saves for his second shutout of the season. The Ospreys allowed just one shot after taking the lead, a header in the 87th minute that Bartletta smothered to prevent a rebound chance by a crashing Widener forward.
The Ospreys had a slight 8-6 advantage in shots but Widener held a 5-3 edge in shots on goal. The teams combined for just three corner kicks. Pride goalie Kyle Stone finished with two saves.
Stockton's will begin the last third of the season, six conference games, by hosting Rutgers-Camden on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
