Virginia Beach, Va. – Stockton University (8-0) overcame an early 3-1 deficit with seven unanswered goals and went on to a 14-5 victory over Sewanee (Tenn.) (8-3) that kept the Ospreys perfect on the season with their eighth straight win.
Meghan Pellegrino (Somers Point/Mainland) recorded four ground balls and four caused turnovers to become Stockton's career leader in both. Pellegrino boosted her career totals to 124 ground balls and 79 caused turnovers, breaking records of 122 and 78 respectively by Tamara Torales (2016-19).
Mary McLaughlin (Somers Point/Mainland) powered the offense with six goals and one assist. McLaughlin also tallied a game-high six draw controls.
Mary Meduri (Brigantine/OLMA) scored four goals followed by
Brianna Robinson (Cape May CH/Middle Twp.) with two markers.
Stockton fell behind 3-1 before goals by Meduri, McLaughlin and Robinson gave them a 4-3 edge after one quarter.
Lucy Sullivan (Lafayette Hill, Pa./Plymouth Whitemarsh), McLaughlin, Robinson and Meduri completed the seven-goal run that put the Ospreys on top 8-3.
A tally by
Margot Costello (South Brunswick/South Brunswick) and one more each from McLaughlin and Meduri upped the advantage to 11-4 at the half. McLaughlin potted two more markers and Meduri added one in a low-scoring second half as Stockton coasted to the 14-5 triumph.

Gina Marotta (Montville/Montville) contributed a career-high four caused turnovers plus three ground balls.
Emma Burns paced Sewanee with two goals and two assists followed by Brooke Sigmon with one goal and one assist.
Stockton will play its next two games at home starting with a matchup against Misericordia University on Tuesday at 5:00 p.m.
