Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (9-0) remained unbeaten with a convincing 14-4 victory over Misericordia University (2-4) on Tuesday afternoon.
Mary McLaughlin (Somers Point/Mainland) led the offense with four goals and one assist for five points on the day. With the win, Stockton tied their longest win streak in program history of nine straight victories set last season.
Mary Meduri (Brigantine/OLMA) added three goals with one helper to become just the fifth player in Stockton history with 100 points in her career. The win also gave
Denise Roessler her 150th victory as a head coach in her career.
Meduri wasted no time in getting the milestone, scoring the first two goals of the game in the first period for a 2-0 lead. NJAC assist leader
Lucy Sullivan (Lafayette Hill, PA/Plymouth Whitemarsh) had helpers on both goals.
McLaughlin potted a pair of goals in the second frame to offset one by the Cougars for a 4-1 lead at the break. McLaughlin, Sullivan, and
Emily Deworsop (Monroe Twp./Monroe Twp.) added to the margin at 7-2 after three quarters before the Ospreys put the match away with seven markers in the final stanza for the 14-4 win.
Sullivan added two goals with two assists for four points, with Deworsop and
Brianna Robinson (Cape May Court House/Middle Twp.) chipping in with two goals each.
Lexie Jackson (Barnegat/Barnegat) snagged eight draw controls and added a marker in the game.
Drew Coxson (Lancaster, PA/Chatham) scooped three ground balls and caused three turnovers, with
Meghan Pellegrino (Somers Point/Mainland) topping the squad with four ground balls.
Daniela Elliott (Wayne/Wayne Valley) made four saves for her ninth win in net this year.
For the Cougars, Genevieve Montanye scored two goals, with Michelle Torzilli scoring a goal, dishing an assist, and scooping six ground balls to lead all players. Torzilli also grabbed three draw controls and caused three turnovers. Goalkeeper Natalie McKinney made eight saves in net.
Stockton will be at home again on Saturday to face Marywood University for their next game. The match is scheduled for 12 pm in Galloway.
