Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University (7-2) took the lead with an early four-goal burst and went on to a 13-8 victory over Misericordia University (4-4) in heavy rain that fell from pregame through the final whistle. Seven Ospreys scored at least once in the win.
Reegan Capozzoli (Wayne/Wayne Valley) tied for game-high honors with three goals while
Colin Hopkins (Springfield, Pa./Springfield Delco) added two goals and an assist for Stockton.
Tyler Horvath (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks South) dominated on faceoffs, winning 21 of 23 draws and grabbing a career-high 20 ground balls to tie the second-highest total in Stockton history.
Misericordia had a 2-1 edge before goals by Capozzoli and Hopkins 29 seconds apart put Stockton in front 3-2 after one period. In the second quarter, Hopkins fed
Alex DeLierre (Basking Ridge/Bridgewater-Raritan) for the first of his two markers and then scored one of his own to increase the lead to 5-2.
Misericordia closed within 5-4 before Capozzoli scored again for a 6-4 Stockton lead at the half. The Ospreys then reeled off four straight goals in the first nine minutes of the third quarter, including two by
Brendan McHale (Montville/Montville) for a 10-4 advantage.
Stockton led by at least four goals over the last 21 minutes of the game to earn the 13-8 triumph. McHale, DeLierre and
Tommy Vandegrift (Abington, Pa./LaSalle College Prep) finished with two goals apiece.

Colin Bernstein (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South) made 11 saves while his counterpart Chris Dindino registered 19 stops for Misericordia. Brendan Stanley tied Capozzoli for the game lead with three goals.
