Arlington, Va. – Stockton University (5-0) was in control from start to finish on the way to a 19-7 victory over Marymount University (1-4) that kept the Ospreys unbeaten and extended their winning streak to five. Thirteen Stockton players found their way onto the scoresheet with at least one point.
Reegan Capozzoli (Wayne/Wayne Valley) led the offense with five goals and one assist for six points followed by
Connor Albrecht (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West) with two goals and two assists for four points.
In the first quarter, Capozzoli scored three times and Albrecht tallied a goal and two assists as Stockton raced out to a 7-1 lead.
Hayden Smallwood (Margate/Ocean City) and
Ethan Fought (Bridgewater/Bridgewater-Raritan) each netted their second marker of the game during a 4-0 second period that made it 11-1 at the half.
Capozzoli potted two more goals in the third stanza as the Ospreys extended the advantage to 16-2. Sophomores
Jeff DiLorenzo (Lincoln Park/Boonton) and
Ben Malicki (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) each scored their first career goal in the fourth quarter as Stockton cruised to its fifth straight win, 19-7.
Tyler Horvath (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks South) won 14 of 18 faceoffs, scooped eight ground balls and scored one goal. Stockton goalkeeper
Colin Bernstein (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South) played 47:25 and made seven saves for the win.
Stockton's next game will be at home against Wesleyan University on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m.
