Stockton Wins Twice Over Pioneers

Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University (14-10, 7-3 NJAC) collected a pair of conference victories in a home doubleheader against William Paterson (2-20, 2-8 NJAC) by scores of 8-0 in five innings and 9-2. The Ospreys rapped 20 hits in the twinbill.
 
Charli Czaczkowski (Jackson/Jackson Memorial) totaled five hits on the day and reached the 100-hit milestone during the second game.
 
Czaczkowski went 2-3 with a double, two RBI and a run in the opener. Alexa Panagopoylos (Atco/Hammonton) was 2-3 with a home run and three RBI while Emily Spencer (Southampton/Seneca) contributed a double, two runs and two RBI in the victory.
 
In the first inning, Spencer sent Czaczkowski home with an RBI double and then scored on a groundout by Panagopoylos. A two-run homer by Panagopoylos highlighted a four-run third inning as Stockton extended the lead to 6-0. The Ospreys tacked on one run apiece in the third and fifth frames for the 8-0 triumph.
 
Nerina Tramp (Blackwood/Highland) pitched four scoreless innings, allowing only a bunt single and striking out eight batters for her ninth win of the season. Stevie Unger (Tower City, Pa./Williams Valley) tossed a perfect fifth frame in the combined shutout.
 
Czaczkowski went 3-4 with a home run and three RBI in the nightcap. The junior singled in the fifth inning for her 100th career hit. Aubrey Jeffers (Lumberton/Rancocas Valley) chipped in with two hits, two runs and an RBI.
 
The Ospreys went down 2-0 on solo homers by Caitlin Monahan and Lilah Guthy before storming back with nine straight runs. In the third inning, Jeffers got Stockton on the board with an RBI single and later scored on a two-run homer by Czaczkowski that put the Ospreys in front 3-2.
 
Megan Dignam (Philadelphia, Pa./Nazareth Academy) stroked a two-run single that was the key hit of a four-run fifth inning that made it 7-2. Czaczkowski knocked an RBI single in the sixth frame that scored Jeffers and Stockton added an unearned run for the 9-2 final.
 
Mia Barone (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) hurled one inning out of the bullpen and collected the pitching win. Tramp entered with the Ospreys ahead 3-2 and tossed four scoreless innings for the save. Overall, Tramp pitched eight scoreless frames on the day.
 
Stockton will play an NJAC doubleheader at Rutgers-Camden on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m.
