Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (12-0, 1-0 NJAC) survived a late fourth quarter rally from Kean University (7-5, 0-1 NJAC) to capture a 17-13 victory in the NJAC opener for both squads. Eight Ospreys hit the net led by
Mary McLaughlin (Somers Point/Mainland) who scored six goals, tying a career-high, with one assist for seven points. She also tied the single game record with 11 draw controls.

Stockton jumped out to a 6-2 lead after one period with McLaughlin and
Madison MacGillivray (Forked River/Lacey Twp.) scoring twice each. The home team expanded the margin to 13-6 at the break, tallying seven times in the second quarter. McLaughlin had two markers in the quarter as did
Mary Meduri (Brigantine/OLMA).

The pace slowed in the third frame as Stockton kept the margin at a comfortable 16-7, with Mclaughlin scoring her final two goals of the game, and Meduri adding the third marker, setting up what would be a tense final period.

The Cougars scored six straight goals to slice the margin to 16-13 with 3:08 left in regulation, but
Anissa Serafine (Tabernacle/Our Lady of Mercy) scored an insurance goal with 52 seconds remaining to give Stockton their 12th straight victory and remained unbeaten.

Lucy Sullivan (Lafayette Hill, PA/Plymouth Whitemarsh) with one goal and three assists, chipped in with four points each.
Emily Deworsop (Monroe Twp./Monroe Twp.) lead all players with a career-high six ground balls.

For the Cougars, Kylie Giordano scored four goals with one assist for five points with five draw controls. Shannon Palen added four points with three assists and a goal, with Lauren Pluta also tallying four points with two goals and two helpers.

Stockton will travel to Ewing, NJ on Tuesday to take on The College of New Jersey at 4 pm. The Lions are ranked #11 by the IWLCA in the latest poll.
