Wayne, N.J. – Stockton University (3-1, 1-0 NJAC) began conference play with a 9-0 sweep of William Paterson (2-6, 0-2 NJAC) on the road. Four singles matches and two doubles matches were shutout wins by the Ospreys.
Sophia Pasquale (Galloway/Holy Spirit),
Carlee Cristella (Mantua/Clearview),
Rocio Lucero (West New York/Memorial) and
Gabrielle Alexandre (Woodbridge/Mother Seton) all won by 6-0, 6-0 scores in singles.
Kierstyn Fenimore (Tabernacle/Seneca) rolled to a 6-1, 6-1 victory and
Jamie Theophall (Egg Harbor Twp./EHT) produced a 6-2, 6-3 triumph.
The doubles teams of Cristella/Theophall and Alexandre/Lucero both posted 8-0 shutouts while Pasquale and Cristella breezed to an 8-1 win.
Stockton will play its first home match of the spring tomorrow when the Ospreys host perennial NJAC champion The College of New Jersey at noon.
