Glassboro, N.J. – Stockton University (12-10, 5-3 NJAC) fell twice in a conference doubleheader at 13th-ranked Rowan University (23-5, 8-0 NJAC). The Ospreys were nipped 1-0 on a walkoff hit in the first game and then were downed 8-0 in five innings.
Charli Czaczkowski (Jackson/Jackson Memorial) stroked two of Stockton's five hits in the opener.
Nerina Tramp (Blackwood/Highland) produced another strong outing, allowing just one run on six hits with seven strikeouts.
Stockton generated some chances but left seven runners on base including two each in the second and sixth innings. Rowan generated the winning run with a walk followed by three straight hits in the bottom of the seventh.
Emily Spencer (Southampton/Seneca) rapped a hit in the nightcap and was the lone Ospreys with a hit in each game. After walking in the first contest,
Regan Mendick (Newark, Del./Red Lion Christian) singled and extended her reached base streak to 16 games.
Five of the eight runs allowed by the Ospreys were unearned.
Stockton will host William Paterson in an NJAC doubleheader on Saturday at noon.
