Chester, Pa. – Five Stockton University student-athletes competed in a total of six events at the Widener Final Qualifier on Monday. Two Ospreys broke their own school records, with one of them moving into position for a spot in the NCAA Championships.
Emma Petrolia (New Milford/New Milford) broke her own school mark in the 400m hurdles by 1.39 seconds and moved up from 29th to 10th in NCAA Division III in the 400m hurdles (1:02.07).
Petrolia finished second out of 10 and joined
Kayla Kass (Bayonne/Bayonne) in the 800m and
Michaela Pomatto (Egg Harbor Twp./EHT) in discus as likely NCAA Championships qualifiers.
Ashanae Morrison (East Brunswick/East Brunswick) shaved 11 hundredths of a second off her own school record in the 100m from last year and placed second out of 29 sprinters (12.15 seconds). Morrison also was fifth out of 11 in the triple jump (11.07m).
Kass ran the second-fastest outdoor 800m time of her career for fourth place out of 37 in the event (2:10.28).
Khristina Washington (Hammonton/Hammonton) finished sixth out of 11 in the long jump (5.10m) and
Emma Conroy (Matawan/Matawan) was 13th out of 20 in the 400m (1:01.67).
Stockton student-athletes who qualified during the season will compete in the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Championships at SUNY Cortland on Wednesday and Thursday.
