Galloway, N.J. – Two Stockton University men's lacrosse teammates were selected
USILA Division III Scholar All-Americans by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association.
Reegan Capozzoli (Wayne/Wayne Valley) and
Brenden McSorley (Mantua/Clearview) were among 176 NCAA Division III players chosen for the recognition.
In addition, Stockton was one of 68 Division III squads to qualify for a
USILA Team All-Academic Award by compiling a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
Capozzoli and McSorley became the seventh and eighth USILA Scholar All-Americans in program history (
Luc Swedlund/Logan Holleritter/
Brendan Scanlon 2022, Eric Ellis 2020, Colin Wharton/Chris Holleritter 2019).
Capozzoli was the Coastal Lacrosse Conference Scholar Athlete of the Year and a CLC Second Team selection this spring. The senior started all 19 games at attack and led Stockton in goals (43) and points (52). Capozzoli finished ninth in the CLC in goals per game (2.29).
Capozzoli became the 15th Osprey to reach the 100-goal mark, and he ended his career seventh in program history in goals (140) and ninth in points (190). He received all-conference honors three times (2022 CSAC Honorable Mention, 2023-24, CLC Second Team).
McSorley started all 19 games on defense, tying for sixth in the CLC in caused turnovers (1.53/game) and finishing second on the team in caused turnovers (28) as well as third in ground balls (44).
Like Capozzoli, McSorley was a three-time all-conference selection (2022 CSAC Second Team, 2023-24 CLC Second Team). The senior concluded his career seventh in Stockton history with 72 caused turnovers while also grabbing 124 ground balls as an Osprey.
