Stockton Sweeps Drew for Fifth Straight Win

Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University (7-1) extended its winning streak to five consecutive victories with a 3-0 sweep of Drew University (2-8) by set scores of 25-15, 25-23, 25-15. The Ospreys controlled the play at the net with 37 kills on offense and 15 total team blocks on defense.
 
Nicole Palmer (East Islip, N.Y./East Islip) led Stockton with a triple-double of 13 kills, 13 assists and 11 digs. Palmer became one of just 23 players in NCAA Division III to record a triple-double this season. Her 13 kills were a match high, and she also served three aces.
 
Regan Mendick (Newark, Del./Red Lion Christian) contributed a double-double of 14 assists and 10 digs. McKenna Ritchie (Newark, Del./Newark Charter) scooped a match-high 15 digs and Jaylah Rolle (Williamstown/Williamstown) led all players with seven blocks.
 
Stockton dominated the first set behind 17 kills and a .342 hitting percentage. Rileigh Wilson (Milton, Del./Cape Henlopen) paced the Ospreys with five kills followed by Palmer and Ashley Carkhuff (Hackettstown/Hackettstown) with four apiece.
 
The second set featured six ties and three lead changes before Stockton prevailed 25-23 behind three kills, three aces and three digs by Palmer plus three kills and three blocks by Kate Louer (Clifton/Clifton).
 
In the third set, Palmer spiked six more kills and Ritchie tallied seven digs as the Ospreys completed the sweep 25-15.
 
Emily Shirk topped Drew with eight kills and added six digs. Alyssa Rachwal dealt a match-high 18 assists and snagged seven digs for the Rangers.
 
Stockton will play a tri-match at Cedar Crest College on Saturday, facing Penn State Hazleton at 1:00 p.m. followed by Cedar Crest at 3:00 p.m.
