Chester, Pa. – Stockton University (3-5) scored an early goal and made it stand up for a 1-0 victory over Widener University (4-3). The win was the second in a row for the Ospreys as they played their first of three straight road games.
Kirsten Bailey (Burlington/Burlington Twp.) scored her team-leading fourth goal of the season just 1:09 into the game, and her tally ended up being the game-winner. Stockton goaltender
Erika Roura (Mt. Laurel/Lenape) made two saves for her first career shutout.
Widener threatened in the fourth quarter, but
Autumn Hunter (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton Area) made a defensive save and another shot by the Pride hit the post.
The teams combined for just seven shots on goal with the Ospreys holding a 4-3 edge. Roura recorded one save apiece in the first and third quarters.
Stockton's next game will be at Albright College on Saturday at 5:00 p.m.
