Glassboro, N.J. – Stockton University (10-1, 1-0 NJAC) began conference play with a 3-1 triumph over Rowan University (5-6, 0-1 NJAC) that was the eighth consecutive win for the Ospreys overall. The victory also was Stockton's 16th straight in NJAC regular season matches.
Nicole Palmer (East Islip, N.Y./East Islip) became the 11th NCAA Division III player to record multiple triple-doubles this year with 14 kills, 13 assists and 11 digs for her second of the season. Palmer also served six aces.
Jaylah Rolle (Williamstown/Williamstown) spiked a season-high 11 kills and led all players with eight blocks, one off her career high. Rolle made just one hitting error and finished with a .476 hitting percentage.
Regan Mendick (Newark, Del./Red Lion Christian) handed out 26 assists while
McKenna Ritchie (Newark, Del./Newark Charter) and
Lauren Sommer (York, Pa./Central York) tallied 14 and 12 digs respectively.
Stockton dominated the first set 25-13 behind a .312 hitting percentage and four aces. The Ospreys seemed in control of the match after taking the second set 25-17. Stockton dropped the third frame 25-18 and then fell behind 17-12 in the fourth set.
Rolle led the comeback with three kills and Palmer clinched the win with a kill on match point as the Ospreys outscored Rowan 14-7 to close out the Profs 26-24.
Hutton Cordrey topped Rowan with nine kills. Brooke Adams tallied 27 assists and 12 digs for the Profs.
Stockton will play Gettysburg and Sailsbury at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. respectively in a tri-match at Gettysburg on Saturday.
