Madison, Pa. – Stockton University (1-1-1) earned its first victory of the season with a 1-0 triumph over Drew University (1-1) on Tuesday night.
Erica Dietz (Allentown, Pa./Central Catholic) netted the game's only goal in the first half.
Dietz took a pass from
Emily Hauck (Jonestown, Pa./Northern Burlington) and fired a low shot into the net with 19:05 gone in the first half. The goal, Stockton's first of the season, proved to be the game-winner in the 1-0 victory.
Stockton goalkeeper
Morgan Keil (Upper Twp./Holy Spirit) notched her second shutout in three games this year with two saves. Keil's counterpart Sarah Crowley made two saves for Drew.
The Rangers outshot the Ospreys 10-6 overall, but Stockton held a slim 3-2 edge in shots on goal, with Dietz's marker proving to be the difference.
Stockton will return to Drew this weekend for two games at the Drew Fall Festival. The Ospreys will take on New Paltz on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
