Stockton Runs by Rutgers-Camden 4-1

Camden, NJ – Stockton University (9-3-3, 4-0-1 NJAC) scored three times in the first half and cruised to a 4-1 road victory over Rutgers-Camden (6-6-2, 3-2-0 NJAC) on Saturday afternoon. Ernst Louisius (Asbury Park/Neptune) scored twice for the Ospreys in the match.

Stockton raced out to a quick 1-0 lead at the 5:57 mark, when Louisius took a crossing pass from Uche Wokocha (Galloway/ St. Augustine) with a header for the goal. In the 38th minute freshman William Lynch (Bensalem, PA/Notre Dame) tallied his fourth goal of the season, with an assist from Kieran Sundermann (Little Egg Harbor/Pinelands).

Seven minutes later, Louisius scored his eighth marker of the season, on an assist from Aiden Hoenisch (Bordentown/Notre Dame) for the 3-0 lead at the break. The helper was his sixth year, moving Hoenisch into second in the NJAC in that category.

The home team broke the shutout at the 75:21 mark, before Wokocha scored his fifth goal of the season in the 80th minute. The senior scored on a restart from just outside the box to finish off the 4-1 victory.

Brady Bartletta (Hainesport/Rancocas Valley) played the first 23:56 in net, making two saves, before giving way to Kyle Birmingham (Budd Lake/Mt. Olive), who played a season-high 66:04 and made one save in earning his first win of the season and helped Stockton remain unbeaten in NJAC play.

Stockton will finish their three-game road trip when they vale to Glassboro, NJ on Wednesday to face #18 Rowan University on Wednesday night. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 pm.
