Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (4-5-6, 2-3-3 NJAC) dropped a 4-1 decision to Montclair State university (11-0-5, 6-0-2 NJAC) on Saturday afternoon.
Katie Ambos (Cinnaminson/Cinnaminson) scored the only marker for the Ospreys in the match.
Ambos got the scoring started early, when she potted her second goal of the season just 2:44 into the fray.
Makayla Jaffe (Middletown/ Middletown South) got the ball to Ambos who put the marker in the top right corner for the 1-0 lead.
The Red Hawks answered with a pair of goals that came off corner kicks. The first was a header by Shannon Mullins at 9:08, then in the 22nd minute Kylie Prendergast spiked a tally to the low left corner for the 2-1 lead. Carly Guzzardo assisted on both goals.
The visitors struck for another two goals in the second half, one by Mullins, to set the final score at 4-1.
Morgan Keil (Upper Twp./Holy Spirit) made four saves in the loss, while Salange Bell made six saves for the Red Hawks.
Stockton will finish 2025 regular season with a road tilt on Wednesday night. The Ospreys will travel to Union, NJ to face Kean University for a 7:30 pm match.
