Oxford, Pa. – Stockton University wrapped up its fall schedule by playing in the inaugural Colonial Women's Golf Conference Championship at Wyncote Golf Club. Stockton is one of eight founding members of the CWGC, which is in its first year of existence.
The Ospreys finished sixth with a two-day total of 859 after shooting 430 yesterday and 429 today. Two of the eight teams did not post a score. Babson, which is ranked 21st in NCAA Division III won with a total of 632 followed by 28th-ranked Christopher Newport with 651.
Elenora Byrne (Princeton Jct./West Windsor-Plainsboro North) produced a strong showing and finished 13th out of 35 golfers in the field with 178. Byrne shot a 91 in the first round and improved four strokes with an 87 in the second round. She made one birdie and 10 pars in her 36 holes.
Kylie Hague (Vineland/Vineland) placed 25th with a two-day total of 218. Hague made two pars and shot 104 on day one followed by 114 on day two.
Ava Kinkler (Somers Point/Mainland) was consistent, with a 116 and 115 for 27th place at 231. Kinkler closed her first round with a flourish by birdieing the 18th hole.
Sophia Mazowski (Vineland/Vineland) followed in 28th place with 237. Mazowski also was consistent, shooting 119 and 118 in her two rounds. The freshman made three pars at the two-day tournament.
Zoe Grom (Stony Point, N.Y./North Rockland) finished 30th. Grom opened with a 128 and then improved by 15 strokes for a 113 on the second day for a total of 241. The rookie also recorded a total of three pars.
Stockton will return to the course for more tournaments during the spring semester.
