Galloway, N.J. – Three Stockton University seniors,
Kayla Kass (Bayonne/Bayonne),
Maddy Valasek (Medford/Shawnee) and
Rachel Hayes (Marlboro/St. John Vianney) earned NJAC All-Conference nods for their efforts at the NJAC Cross Country Championship, which was held at Stockton on Saturday.
The trio helped Stockton earn a top-three finish for the sixth consecutive year, and all three runners have collected all-conference honors multiple times in their careers. All honors were determined based on placing at the NJAC Championship meet, which was conducted at Stockton.
Kass became a four-time NJAC All-Conference honoree with an NJAC First Team spot by finishing sixth out of 89 runners with a time of 23:11.7 over the 6K course. The senior earned her third career NJAC First Team nod to go with an NJAC Second Team selection in 2024. Kass also was the NJAC Rookie of the Year in 2022.
Valasek posted the best finish of her career at the NJAC Championship, finishing ninth with a time of 23:22.9 for her second career NJAC Second Team award. The senior previously snagged NJAC Second Team recognition in 2023.
Hayes earned her third career NJAC Second Team nod with a time of 23:26.9 over the 6K course, finishing in 11th place for her best finish ever at the NJAC Championships. The senior also was an NJAC Second Team runner in 2022 and 2024.
