Stockton Downed by McDaniel 63-48

Galloway, N.J. - Stockton University (6-4) played its final game before the holidays and fell to McDaniel College (10-1) 63-48 in a non-conference matchup at The Sports Center. The Ospreys went 15-19 (78.9%) at the free throw line. 
 
Sienna Fedoruk (Mt. Laurel/Lenape) shot a near perfect 5-6 (83.3%) from the field and scored a career-high 12 points to lead Stockton. Lauren Winant (Middletown/Middletown) sank all six of her free throw attempts and finished with eight points. 
 
Imene Fathi (Wildwood/Wildwood) and Bre Evans (Neptune/Neptune) contributed seven points apiece, with Evans also swiping a team-high three steals. Fathi and Grace Speer (Estell Manor/ACIT) topped the Ospreys with five rebounds each. 
 
Stockton was within 12-8 after the first quarter, but McDaniel outscored the Ospreys 23-15 in the second period for a 35-23 count at halftime. Speer scored all six of her points in the first half to lead Stockton. 
 
The Ospreys got one point closer with a 15-14 edge in the third quarter as Fedoruk netted five markers and Evans added four. Stockton trailed 49-38 after three and was unable to get closer than 11 points in the fourth stanza, falling 63-48. 
 
For McDaniel, Teya McConnagha posted a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds. Elaina Beckett also scored 16 points and Lauren Cavoli tossed in 14 markers for the Green Terror. 
 
Stockton is off until the new year, when the Ospreys will start a two-game trip to Virginia with a game at Virginia Wesleyan on January 2 at 3:00 p.m.
