Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (2-3, 1-1 NJAC) played tough defense to stifle The College of New Jersey (5-2, 1-1 NJAC) by a score of 80-64 on Wednesday night.
Tayvon Gaither (Mt. Laurel/Lenape) led four Ospreys in double figures with 18 points for the Ospreys first NJAC win of the season. The Lions are ranked #19 nationally by d3hoops.com

The game started out tight as the squads ground out possessions until Stockton took control in the first half. The visitors closed to within four at 24-20 with 5:28 left in the half, but Stockton outscored the Lions 14-5 the rest of the way to take a 38-25 lead at the break. The home team held the Lions to just 9-34 (26.5%) shooting including just 1-15 from behind the arc.

Stockton kept up the pressure in the second half keeping the lead and not allowing TCNJ to get closer than 14 points the rest of the game, in the 80-64 victory.

In addition to Gaither, who shot 7-11 (63.7%) from the field,
Andrew Crawford (Haddon Heights/Camden Catholic) scored a career-high 15 points and dished a team-high five helpers.
Charlie Bell (Miami, FL/Florida Christian) added 13 points and a team-high eight rebounds, tying his career-highs, with
Justin Harper (Bridgeton/Wildwood Catholic) chipping in with 11 markers.

DJ Germann (Egg Harbor Twp./EHT) topped all players with a career-high four steals, as the Stockton defense held TCNJ overall to 32.4% (23-71) shooting and just 5-31 (16.1%) from the three-point line. The Ospreys shot a solid 55.8% (29-52) from the field with 42 of the 80 points coming in the paint.

For the Lions, Nick Koch topped all players with 24 points, with Jonathan Okocha adding 16 markers. Matthew Soloman tallied game-highs of 11 rebounds and six assists.

Stockton will travel to Wayne, NJ on Saturday for their next tilt, when the Ospreys face William Paterson University. Tip-off is set for 3 pm.
