Stockton Begins Indoor Season at Fastrack Opener

Staten Island, N.Y. – Stockton University started the 2025-26 indoor track & field season by competing in the Fastrack Season Opener at Ocean Breeze. The meet, which is Stockton's only one before the holidays, included a mixture of teams from all three NCAA Divisions.
 
Elaina Styer (Estell Manor/Ocean City) compiled an impressive list of results in four events. Individually, Styer finished second out of 30 in the long jump (5.50m) and second out of 15 in the high jump (1.55) plus fourth out of 26 in the 60m hurdles with a time that tied her school record from last year (9.03 seconds).
 
In addition, Styer ran a leg of the 4x400 along with Emma Conroy (Matawan/Matawan), Emma Petrolia (New Milford/New Milford) and Marlie DiPalma (Hackettstown/Pope John XXIII) for fourth place out of 14 relay teams (4:03.01).
 
Conroy also finished third out of 22 runners in the 500m (1:19.80) and Petrolia was fourth out of 33 in the 300m (42.19 seconds).
 
The Ospreys were strong in the pole vault, led by Eva Morrison (Northfield/Mainland) in third place (3.40m). Sydney Rick (Pennington/Hopewell Valley) followed in fourth place (2.95m) and freshman Megan Morris (Pennsville/Pennsville) was sixth (2.95m) at her first career meet.
 
Jessica Bentley (Forked River/Lacey Twp.) finished fifth out of 31 throwers in the shot put (11.38m) and transfer Jessica Bruther (Manahawkin/Southern Regional) placed fifth out of 18 runners in the 800m (2:30.89) at her first meet as an Osprey.
 
Stockton's next meet will be the Gotham Cup at Ocean Breeze on January 16.
