Reading, Pa. - Stockton University (1-1) secured its first victory of the season with a dominant 12-2 win over Alvernia University (2-1) in a game that was stopped after seven innings. The Ospreys broke the game open with six runs in the sixth frame.

Tony Gatti (Howell/Howell) accounted for half of Stockton's eight hits by going 4-5 with two runs, two RBI, one double and one stolen base.
Jordan Nitti (Hamilton/Steinert) was 2-3 with two runs, a double and an RBI.

Gatti led off the game with a double and scored the first Stockton run. In the second inning,
Robbie Ford (Green Twp./Newton) rapped an RBI double that was his 100th career hit and gave the Ospreys a 2-0 lead.

The Ospreys manufactured a pair of runs without a hit in the third frame for a 4-0 advantage and added another on a sacrifice fly by Ford in the fifth inning to make it 5-0. Alvernia then got on the board with two runs in the bottom of the fifth.

Gatti led off the seven-run seventh inning with a single and scored on Nitti's RBI double. The Ospreys batted around, and Gatti later capped the explosion with a two-run single that finished off the scoring in the 12-2 triumph.

Antonio Sansone (Middletown/Middletown North) did not allow an earned run (two unearned) in five innings pitched for the win. Sansone and newcomers
Dominic Mallamaci (Manalapan/Red Bank Catholic) and
Tim Welsh (Allentown/Allentown) held Alvernia to just one hit.
