Jersey City, N.J. - Stockton University (10-11, 6-8 NJAC) produced its highest point total in the last eight games but was outscored 71-62 by New Jersey City University (9-12, 8-6 NJAC). The Ospreys did their best work near the basket, with 24 points in the paint and a 41-31 rebound advantage.

Imene Fathi (Wildwood/Wildwood) led Stockton with a well-rounded stat line of 17 points, eight rebounds, five assists and five steals while playing 39:26 of the game's 40 minutes. Fathi topped the team in scoring, assists and steals and tied for the rebound lead.

ChiChi Wokocha (Galloway/Absegami) and
Grace Speer (Estell Manor/ACIT) scored 14 and 10 points respectively while tying Fathi with eight rebounds apiece.
Danielle Jeffreys (Sicklerville/Williamstown) equaled her season high with nine points.

Stockton fell behind 13-7 after one quarter and trailed 32-25 at the half. Wokocha scored six points and Fathi added five to top a balanced offense. Fathi netted the first five points of the third quarter to pull the Ospreys within 32-30, but they fell victim to a 12-2 NJCU run that made it 44-32.

Stockton responded with nine straight points, five in a row by Jeffreys followed by four from Wokocha, to close the gap to 44-41. A late three-pointer by the Gothic Knights dealt the Ospreys a 47-41 deficit after three.

The margin was 11 with 5:01 remaining before Stockton nearly rallied. The Ospreys made it a one-possession game at 57-54 on a Wokocha layup with 3:12 on the clock and again at 63-60 on a layup by Speer with 1:13 to go, however NJCU fended off Stockton for the 71-62 final.

Destiny Battle paced the hosts with a game-high 20 points. Autumn John tallied a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Stockton will be on the road again for a 3:00 p.m. game at Montclair State, which is tied for first place in the NJAC.
