Haverford, Pa. – Stockton University (3-1) absorbed its first defeat after starting the season with three wins as the Ospreys fell to Haverford (4-1) by a slim 8-7 count. A 3-1 third quarter in favor of the hosts was the key segment of the game.
Robbie O'Brien (Springfield, Pa./Springfield-Delco) scored a team-high two goals and
Liam Humphrey (Mt. Laurel/Lenape) was the top point producer for the Ospreys with three on a goal and two assists.

Ben Blum (Mt. Laurel/Lenape) gave his team a chance with a career-high 18 saves as well as a team-high six ground balls.
Shane Phillips (Springfield, Pa./Springfield-Delco) paced the defense with three caused turnovers and three ground balls.
After Haverford scored first, three straight tallies by O'Brien,
Jack Vandegrift (Jenkintown/LaSalle College Prep) and
Hunter VanZant (Lincoln Park/Boonton) vaulted the Ospreys ahead 3-1.
The Fords answered with three goals in a row before
Steven Woolery (Media, Pa./Penncrest) scored with five seconds left in the second quarter for a 4-4 tie at the half.
Stockton yielded three consecutive markers in the third period and faced a 7-4 deficit. O'Brien halted the run in the last minute, and the Ospreys went to the fourth quarter down 7-5. After the margin reached three again at 8-5, Humphrey scored with 6:07 remaining.
Tommy Vandegrift netted a man-up goal with 31 seconds to play, but there wasn't enough time for Stockton to rally, and the game ended in an 8-7 setback.
For Haverford, Matt Richards scored twice and Jonathan Moon tallied a goal and three assists. Fords' goalie Jacob Abraham made 12 saves.
Stockton will play its fifth straight road game when the Ospreys visit No. 13-ranked Swarthmore on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
