Stockton Opens with Sweep of Muhlenberg

Galloway, N.Y. – Stockton University (2-0) opened the 2025 season by sweeping Muhlenberg College (2-2) 11-2 in five innings and 7-2. The Ospreys scored 18 runs on 19 hits, including seven for extra bases, in the doubleheader. Caitlin Cetrulo (Caldwell/Caldwell) led the offense with a team-high four hits.

Cetrulo was one of three players with two hits apiece in the opener. Emily Spencer (Southampton/Seneca) went 2-2 with a double, homer and three runs. Alexa Panagopoylos (Atco/Hammonton) was 2-3 with two runs and two RBI while Cetrulo added two RBI to her two hits.

Regan Mendick (Newark, Del./Red Lion Christian) slugged her first career home run and Salisbury transfer Emma Coldsnow (Yorktown, Va./Tabb) blasted a two-run homer in her Stockton debut.

The Ospreys started quickly with five runs in the first inning and added three more apiece in the second and third frames. The game was called in the fifth due to the run rule. Nerina Tramp (Blackwood/Highland), the 2024 NJAC Pitcher of the Year, allowed two runs on two hits with five strikeouts for the win.

In the nightcap, Cetrulo went 2-4 with a run and an RBI while Coldsnow was 2-3 with an RBI. The Ospreys fell behind 2-0 in the top of the first but took the game over from there.

Stockton exploded for four runs in the bottom of the second on a two-run single by Mendick and a two-run double off the bat of Charli Czaczkowski (Jackson/Jackson Memorial). The Ospreys created some separation with three runs in the fourth stanza on RBI singles by Coldsnow and Cetrulo plus an RBI double by Panagopoylos.

Starting pitcher Lexi Liquori (Union/Union) allowed two runs on six hits with five strikeouts and three walks in six innings pitched for the win. Liquori worked out of a bases-loaded, one-out jam in the fourth inning by fanning two batters in a row to preserve a 4-2 lead on the way to the 7-2 Stockton triumph.

For Muhlenberg, Kaya Mahy rapped one hit in each game, including a wind-aided inside the park homer in the first contest. Peri Kahn stroked two hits for the Mules in the second game.

Stockton is scheduled to play next at Arcadia on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m.
