Stockton Pounds Arcadia 7-1 & 17-2

Galloway, N.Y. – Stockton University (4-0) scored 24 runs on 25 hits in a sweep of Arcadia University (0-4) by scores of 7-1 and 17-2 in five innings. The Ospreys slugged 10 extra-base hits, five of which were home runs.
 
Freshman McKenna George (Centennial, Colo./Eaglecrest) had an astounding day at the plate, going 4-6 with her first two career homers, one double, one triple and 11 RBI in the twinbill.
 
George went 2-4 with a double, triple and three RBI while Caitlin Cetrulo (Caldwell/Caldwell) was 2-3 with a triple and two runs in the opener. Regan Mendick (Newark, Del./Red Lion Christian) slugged her second homer of the season.
 
The Ospreys got one run in the third frame and made it 2-0 on Mendick's solo blast in the fourth before Arcadia got on the board with one run. George doubled home Cetrulo in the fifth and the Ospreys broke the game open with four runs in the seventh stanza, which was highlighted by a two-run triple from George.
 
Nerina Tramp (Blackwood/Highland) allowed only an unearned run on four hits with 10 strikeouts and just one walk for the victory in the 7-1 triumph.
 
In the nightcap, George hit a grand slam in the first inning for her first career home run. The rookie then lofted a three-run homer in the third frame and added a sacrifice fly in the same inning for eight RBI.
 
Emma Coldsnow (Yorktown, Va./Tabb) slammed a two-run homer in the second inning and a three-run blast in the third for five RBI. Cetrulo and Mendick added two hits and two runs apiece while Charli Czaczkowski (Jackson/Jackson Memorial) was 2-4 with two runs, one double, one RBI and one walk.
 
Stockton scored seven runs in the second inning, eight more in the third frame and two in the fourth on the way to the 17-2 rout. Mia Barone (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) collected the pitching win with three relief innings in which she allowed one earned run plus one unearned on three hits with two strikeouts.
 
Stockton will head to No. 13-ranked Salisbury for four games this weekend. The Ospreys will face Salisbury (10:30 a.m.) and McDaniel (2:30 p.m.) on Saturday followed by a doubleheader against the host Sea Gulls on Sunday at noon.
