Stockton Wins Third Straight 12-4

Scranton, PA – Stockton University (4-1) won their third straight game with a 12-4 win over Marywood University (3-4) on Monday afternoon. Isabella Marinello (West Caldwell/Caldwell) led the Ospreys with four goals and two assists for six points.

Stockton took a 4-1 lead after one period as four different players hit the net. Charlotte Ondria (Newtown, PA/Council Rock North), Margot Costello (South Brunswick/South Brunswick), Marinello and Ashley Pringle (Barnegat/Barnegat) gave the Ospreys the margin.

Three straight goals by the Pacers knotted the game at 4-4 to begin the second frame, but it would be all Stockton after. Ondria, Marinello and Julia Gibson (Cape May Point/Lower Cape May) made it 7-4 at the break.

The Stockton defense was superb in the second half, allowing just four shots, with three on net, while shutting out the home team and piling on five more goals to set the final score at 12-4.

Gibson aided the cause with three goals and an assist for four points, with Shyanne Nucifora (Lacey/Lacey Twp.)  topping the team with three assists. Pringle chipped in with two goals and two helpers. Gina Marotta (Montville/Montville) paced the defense for the second straight game with a career-highs of 10 ground balls and five caused turnovers. Her 10 ground balls set a new single game mark at Stockton.

Jordan Czaczkowski (Jackson/Jackson Memorial) made seven saves in net for the victory.

For the Pacers, Natalie Yilanjian scored twice with teammate Kaitlyn Smith adding a goal and assist. Goalkeeper Jenna Scala made 17 saves in net.

Stockton will play at home on Wednesday afternoon, when the Ospreys will face Drew University. The game is set for 4 pm.
