Patchogue, N.Y. - Stockton University (7-2) defeated Saint Joseph's-Long Island (0-2) 20-5 after putting on a strong scoring display of 20 goals. The Ospreys were led by
Brianna Robinson (Cape May CH/Middle Twp.) and
Margot Costello (South Brunswick/South Brunswick) as both of them set new career highs in this game, each putting up five goals.
Â
Costello also contributed two assists as they played an excellent game.
Isabella Marinello (West Caldwell/Caldwell), who added three goals and two assists, was another important player.
Â
Together with
Jordan Czaczkowski's (Jackson/Jackson Memorial) great defensive effort, which included nine saves in goal and five ground balls, the team's outstanding offensive play helped keep Stockton on course.
Â
Julia Gibson (Cape May Point/Lower Cape May) chipped in with two goals and two assists while
Gina Marotta (Montville/Montville) tallied nine draw controls and three ground balls. Freshman
Georgia Keubler (Southampton/Seneca) netted her first career goal.
Â
Saint Joseph's was held to just five goals and their attempts to gain momentum were limited by Stockton's excellent defense and effective offense. Sabrina Doyle scored three of the home teams five goals.
Â
The Ospreys will now look to keep their momentum going when they face Eastern University on March 26 at home at 4:00 p.m.
