Montclair, N.J. - Stockton University (13-7, 1-1 NJAC) began conference play by splitting a doubleheader at Montclair State (13-7, 1-1 NJAC). The Ospreys took the opener 5-0 with their third straight shutout but then succumbed to a Red Hawks' rally in the nightcap, falling 3-2.

Nerina Tramp (Blackwood/Highland) tossed a two-hit hitter with seven strikeouts in the first game for her third shutout of the season.
Alexa Panagopoylos (Atco/Hammonton) went 2-4 with a double and an RBI as she rapped two of Stockton's six hits in the game.

The game was scoreless into the sixth inning until the Ospreys exploded for five runs. Panagopoylos and
Megan Sears (Oakland/Indian Hills) each ripped RBI doubles and
Madison Manera (Clayton/Clayton) stroked a two-run single during the big inning.

Maggie Formichelli (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem) went 1-3 with a run and an RBI while
Emily Spencer (Southampton/Seneca) added a double and a run in the nightcap.

Spencer led off the second inning with a double and later scored on a fielder's choice off the bat of Formichelli. Three innings later, Formichelli scored on a sacrifice fly that made it 2-0. Montclair State snapped Stockton's 30-inning scoreless streak with three runs in the bottom of the sixth to edge the Ospreys 3-2.

Stockton will be on the road again on Tuesday for an NJAC doubleheader at The College of New Jersey that begins at 2:30 p.m.
