Galloway, N.J. – Both Stockton University women's golfers played alongside junior college players in the Ocean County College Spring Invitational on Monday afternoon. The tournament took place at Seaview Golf Club on the Bay Course, which annually hosts the ShopRite LPGA Classic.
Elenora Byrne (Princton Jct./West Windsor Plainsboro South) broke 80 for the second straight time as she shot an eight-over 79. Byrne made one birdie and three pars en route to a four-over 41 on the front nine. She then parred six holes on the way to a 38 on the par-34 back nine.
Lexi Hughes (Galloway/Absegami) recorded her career best in 10 college rounds with a 123. Hughes shot a 64 on the front nine followed by a 59 on the back. The senior topped her previous best round of 128 by five strokes.
Stockton will compete next in the Albright Spring Invitational at Golden Oaks Golf Club on April 10.
