Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University (8-7, 2-3 CLC) used a huge six-goal run overlapping the third and fourth quarters to pull away from Montclair State (8-5, 0-3 CLC) and earn a hard-fought 13-12 victory on Saturday afternoon in CLC action.
Stockton trailed 9-7 before goals by
Riley Burns (Mullica Hill/Clearview),
Gage Parker (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown) and
Daniel Amores (West Caldwell/Caldwell) in the last 3:44 of the third quarter put the visitors in front.
The Ospreys entered the final period clinging to a 10-9 lead but wasted no time gaining separation. Parker started the fourth quarter with a goal 36 seconds in, followed by a quick strike from
Hunter VanZant (Lincoln Park/Boonton) only 17 seconds later.
Connor Albrecht (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West) added to the Ospreys' tally to get a 3-0 run that pushed Stockton's advantage to 13-9. Montclair made a last push with three straight goals to trim the deficit to 13-12, but the Ospreys' defense held strong in the closing minutes.

Ben Blum (Mt. Laurel/Lenape came up clutch with a key save late, finishing the night 13 stops.
Chris Funston (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) led the defense with three caused turnovers and two ground balls.
Josh Graham (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) paced the Stockton offense with four goals, while
Jack Vandegrift (Jenkintown, Pa./LaSalle College Prep) put two away. Parker also tallied twice in the win. Overall, eight different Ospreys found the back of the net.
Montclair was led by John Crank and Jack Cleary, who scored three goals apiece for the Red Hawks.
Stockton will return to action on Wednesday, hosting Vassar College at 5:00 p.m. on the Stockton Turf Field.
