4/14/2025 3:13:00 PM

Galloway, N.J. – Two Stockton University women's track & field teammates collected NJAC weekly awards for the week of April 7-13. Maddy Valasek (Medford/Shawnee) was chosen NJAC Track Athlete of the Week and Marlie DiPalma (Hackettstown/Pope John XXIII) was selected NJAC Rookie of the Week. The Ospreys competed in the Oscar Moore Invitational at Rowan University on Saturday.

Valasek, who is a member of the Stockton cross country, indoor track & field and outdoor track & field teams, received her first career NJAC weekly award in any of the three sports. DiPalma collected her second rookie award of the year after previously getting one for indoor track & field in February.

Valasek won the 3000m by 21 seconds over the runner-up with a time of 10:34.45 at the Oscar Moore Invitational. The junior also ran a personal-best 4:45.16 in the 1500m for seventh place in a large field of 60 runners. The effort moved her into third place on the NJAC performance list for the 1500m.

DiPalma competed in three events at the Oscar Moore Invitational, highlighted by a runner-up finish in the long jump with a distance of 5.11 meters that put her second on the NJAC performance list. The freshman ran the 200m for the first time in her career and finished at 27.95 seconds. DiPalma also ran a leg of the 4x100 relay in which the Ospreys posted 51.52 seconds as their time.

Stockton will compete next in the Widener University Invitational on April 18-19.
