Ospreys of the Week: April 21-27, 2025

Nick Avagnano (Paramus/Paramus) batted .389 with a team-high nine runs plus seven hits and six RBI in five games last week. Avagnano blasted two runs and a triple. The junior recorded team highs in slugging percentage (.833) and on-base percentage (.542).
 
Ben Blum (Mt. Laurel/Lenape) finished with 18 saves for Stockton Men's Lacrosse, one off his career high, for his 13th consecutive game with a double-digit save total. His effort helped the Ospreys defeat Mary Washington 12-11 on overtime in the opening round of the CLC Tournament.
 
Riley Burns (Mullica Hill/Clearview) scored his second goal of the game with one second left in overtime to lift Stockton Men's Lacrosse to a 12-11 triumph over Mary Washington in the CLC Tournament first round game.
 
Margot Costello (South Brunswick/South Brunswick) led Stockton Women's Lacrosse with 12 ground balls, including a career-high nine against Ramapo, and nine caused turnovers for the week. Costello also tied for the team lead with seven points on five goals and two assists. She set a school record with eight caused turnovers against Ramapo.
 
Isabel Duval (Old Bridge/Old Bridge), Adrienne Austin (Hainesport/Rancocas Valley), Cameron Radcliffe (Point Pleasant/Pt. Pleasant Boro) and Marlie DiPalma (Hackettstown/Pope John XXIII) broke the school record in the 4x100 relays by two-hundredths of a second with a time of 49.23 seconds that was good for 12th place out of 22 teams in the College Women's 4x100 Eastern.
 
Ahmad Fogg (Egg Harbor Twp./EHT) finished second for Stockton Men's Track & field behind a Division I competitor from Monmouth University out of 40 in the long jump (7.03m) at the TCNJ Lions Invitational. Fogg's leap moved him into 32nd in NCAA Division III.
 
Joe Gmitter (Hamilton/Steinert) led Stockton Baseball, batting a team-high .478 (11-23) with seven RBI in five games last week. Gmitter ended his first season at Stockton with 60 hits, becoming the fifth player to reach that mark, and batted .405 for the year, placing him eighth in a single season.
 
Kayla Kass (Bayonne/Bayonne), Kayla Sullivan (Manahawkin/Delaware Valley), Emma Conroy (Matawan/Matawan) and Emma Petrolia (New Milford/New Milford) won the College Women's 4x400 CTC race at the Penn Relays with a time of 3:53.54 that was just two-tenths of a second off the Stockton Women's Track & Field record.
 
Carson Latham (Bordentown/Bordentown) finished sixth out of 65 sprinters in the 100m (10.89 seconds) and seventh out of 60 in the 200m (21.81 seconds) for Stockton Men's Track & Field at the TCNJ Lions Invitational. Latham also ran a leg on the College Men's 4x100 Eastern that placed 10th out of 21at the Penn Relays in the with a time of 42.61 seconds.
 
Madison MacGillivray (Forked River/Lacey Twp.) tied for the Stockton Women's Lacrosse team lead with five goals and two assists for seven points in two NJAC games last week. MacGillivray also had three draw controls, one caused turnover and one ground ball.
 
Alexa Panagopoylos (Atco/Hammonton) batted a tremendous .583 (7-12) with two doubles and one home run in four wins for Stockton Softball. Panagopoylos tied for the team lead in hits (7) and added six RBI and four runs during the week.
 
Sophia Pasquale (Galloway/Holy Spirit) won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 1 singles and teamed with Kim Wash (Shamong/Seneca) for a 6-3 victory at No. 1 doubles as the pair led Stockton to a 4-3 victory over Rutgers-Camden in the NJAC Tournament semifinals. Wash added a 6-1, 6-2 triumph at No. 2 singles.
 
Nerina Tramp (Blackwood/Highland) continued her outstanding season for Stockton Softball as she won both games that she pitched, with one of the wins coming by shutout. In 13.0 innings pitched, Tramp struck out 19, scattered six hits over two contests, did not walk a batter with an ERA of 1.08 and held opponents to a .140 batting average.
